Dimensional Insight is a software company that develops business intelligence and analytics software. It was founded in 1989 by Frederick A. Powers and Stanley R. Zanarotti and is headquartered in Burlington, Mass., with offices in the Netherlands and Norway. Its products are used in healthcare, beverage alcohol, manufacturing, and supply chain.[1]
The company's principal product is Diver Platform, which combines data from multiple source systems, applies shared definitions for business measures, and presents the results through dashboards, reports, and an AI assistant.[2] In an April 2025 KLAS Research report on data and analytics platforms, Diver Platform received the highest overall performance score among the vendors evaluated.[3]
Dimensional Insight's flagship product, Diver Platform (Diver), is a business intelligence and analytics suite that allows users to combine multiple internal and external data sources into a single data feed that enables secure, role-based access to data via interactive dashboards and reports.[4] Diver can also be used to send email alerts, to create PDF files, or to download data into Microsoft Excel files.[5]
In addition, Dimensional Insight develops specific applications to meet reporting and analytics needs of both healthcare as well as supplier, manufacture, and distributor organizations.[6] These applications include a revenue and expense tracking tool, productivity analysis tools, and a suite of executive dashboards, as well as physician scorecards, surgery scorecards, and a certified Meaningful Use solution.[6]
The company emerged as the leader in the two top-right quadrants presented in Dresner Advisory Services' Wisdom of Crowds Business Intelligence Market Study in 2020.[7] Diver was awarded first place in the Business Intelligence segment in the 2015 Best in KLAS report.[8] It won Best in KLAS in healthcare business intelligence and analytics again in 2019 and 2020, scoring highly in the report for its corporate culture, customer relationships, and overall value.[9][10]

In topology, knot theory is the study of mathematical knots. While inspired by knots which appear in daily life, such as those in shoelaces and rope, a mathematical knot differs in that the ends are joined so it cannot be undone, the simplest knot being a ring (or "unknot"). In mathematical language, a knot is an embedding of a circle in 3-dimensional Euclidean space, E 3 {\displaystyle \mathbb {E} ^{3}} . Two mathematical knots are equivalent if one can be transformed into the other via a deformation of R 3 {\displaystyle \mathbb {R} ^{3}} upon itself (known as an ambient isotopy); these transformations correspond to manipulations of a knotted string that do not involve cutting it or passing it through itself. Knots can be described in various ways. Using different description methods, there may be more than one description of the same knot. For example, a common method of describing a knot is a planar diagram called a knot diagram, in which any knot can be drawn in many different ways. Therefore, a fundamental problem in knot theory is determining when two descriptions represent the same knot. A complete algorithmic solution to this problem exists, which has unknown complexity. In practice, knots are often distinguished using a knot invariant, a "quantity" which is the same when computed from different descriptions of a knot. Important invariants include knot polynomials, knot groups, and hyperbolic invariants. The original motivation for the founders of knot theory was to create a table of knots and links, which are knots of several components entangled with each other. More than six billion knots and links have been tabulated since the beginnings of knot theory in the 19th century. To gain further insight, mathematicians have generalized the knot concept in several ways. Knots can be considered in other three-dimensional spaces and objects other than circles can be used; see knot (mathematics). For example, a higher-dimensional knot is an n-dimensional sphere embedded in (n+2)-dimensional Euclidean space. Knot theory can also be extended to describe entanglement in open curves, which is used to study knots in proteins, DNA, and physical ropes.
In string theory and related theories (such as supergravity), a brane is a physical object that generalizes the notion of a zero-dimensional point particle, a one-dimensional string, or a two-dimensional membrane to higher-dimensional objects. Branes are dynamical objects which can propagate through spacetime according to the rules of quantum mechanics. They have mass and can have other attributes such as charge. Mathematically, branes can be represented within categories, and are studied in pure mathematics for insight into homological mirror symmetry and noncommutative geometry. The word brane was coined in 1987 as a clipping of membrane.
Insight Investment, also referred to simply as Insight, is a British asset management company. It is one of the largest global asset management companies, responsible for $836.4bn of assets under management as of 31 March 2026, represented by the value of cash securities and other economic exposure managed for clients. It manages strategies which include fixed income, liability-driven investment (LDI), cash, absolute return and multi-asset. Insight is a subsidiary of BNY, a multinational financial services corporation. Insight is the largest LDI manager in the world, as measured by assets under management. The UK banking group HBOS formed Insight Investment in 2002 by merging its asset management arms, which included Clerical Medical Investment Management. In 2003, Insight Investment acquired Rothschild Asset Management, which specialised in fixed income investments. In 2009, BNY acquired Insight from Lloyds Banking Group, which formally acquired HBOS earlier that year. In 2013, Insight merged with Pareto Investment Management, a currency risk manager. In early 2015, BNY acquired US-based fixed income and solutions specialist Cutwater Asset Management. In 2021, various fixed income capabilities transferred from Mellon Investments to Insight. Insight is headquartered in London and has offices in Manchester, New York, Boston, San Francisco, Frankfurt, Sydney and Tokyo. Insight Investment was a founding signatory of the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). Insight is a signatory to the UK Stewardship Code, administered by the Financial Reporting Council. Insight is also a signatory to the UN Global Compact.
Before the 1921 destruction of Tulsa’s Greenwood District, Black residents had created a remarkable center of business and community life. The district included stores, professional offices, entertainment venues and homes owned by Black citizens. Understanding Greenwood means learning what was built—not only what was burned.
