The MOVE Fire

This is a personal recollection on the Move fire on May 13, 1985 Philadelphia police fired thousands of rounds at the MOVE house, city officials approved dropping an explosive device on the roof, the resulting fire was allowed to burn, 11 people—including five children—died, and 61 homes were destroyed. Philadelphia City Council later called it a “brutal attack carried out by the City of Philadelphia on its own citizens” and acknowledged that no individual faced criminal consequences for the bombing. One timeline correction worth preserving for the BHP record: the major previous MOVE-police confrontation was August 8, 1978, about seven years before the bombing, not a year or two earlier. Officer James Ramp was killed, other police and firefighters were wounded, nine MOVE members were later convicted, and television cameras recorded police beating Delbert Africa during his arrest. The 1985 MOVE Commission later specifically criticized city planners for failing to adequately use lessons from that 1978 confrontation. And that actually strengthens the point you’re making: 1985 did not happen without precedent or institutional memory. There had already been a deadly confrontation with MOVE, years of conflict, negotiations and police involvement before Osage Avenue.

Kourtney and Khloé Take The Hamptons is an American reality television series that premiered on E! on November 2, 2014.[1] The series is the fourth spin-off show of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, following Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York, and Khloé & Lamar. The show featured sisters Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian who opened a new D-A-S-H location in Southampton, New York.[2][3]

The Kardashians' DASH boutique opened as a pop-up shop for the summer on the iconic Jobs Lane in Southampton Village.[4] The family rented a home on a peninsula in the Hamptons hamlet of North Sea.[5]

Khloé Kardashian

Khloé Alexandra Kardashian (; born June 27, 1984) is an American media personality, socialite, and businesswoman. She rose to fame starring with her family in the reality television series Keeping Up with the Kardashians from 2007 to 2021. Its success led to the creation of spin-offs, including Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami (2009–2013) and Kourtney and Khloé Take The Hamptons (2014–2015). Following the ending of their previous show, she and her family began starring on Hulu's The Kardashians in 2022. From September 2009 to December 2016, Kardashian was married to basketball player Lamar Odom, whom she married one month after they first met. They starred in their own reality television series, Khloé & Lamar (2011–2012). In 2009, Kardashian participated in the second season of The Celebrity Apprentice, finishing 10th of 16 candidates after being fired by Donald Trump. In 2012, she co-hosted the second season of the American adaptation of The X Factor with actor Mario Lopez. In 2016, Kardashian hosted her own talk show, Kocktails with Khloé. She starred in and produced health and fitness docu-series Revenge Body with Khloé Kardashian from 2017 to 2019. In 2025, she began hosting her own weekly podcast called Khloe in Wonderland. Kardashian has been involved in the retail and fashion industries with her sisters Kourtney and Kim. They have launched several clothing collections and fragrances, and additionally released the book Kardashian Konfidential in 2010. The Dash boutique employees starred in their own short-lived reality television series, Dash Dolls (2015). In 2016, she established and launched her own female fashion brand Good American, alongside Briton Emma Grede. In 2025, she launched a protein popcorn, Khloud by Khloe Kardashian.

Keeping Up with the Kardashians

Keeping Up with the Kardashians (often abbreviated KUWTK) is an American reality television series which focused on the personal and professional lives of the Kardashian–Jenner blended family. It aired on the E! network between 2007 and 2021. The series focused mainly on sisters Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé Kardashian and their half-sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner. It also featured their parents, Kris and Caitlyn Jenner, and brother, Rob. Partners of the Kardashian sisters also appeared on the show. Its premise originated with Ryan Seacrest, who also served as an executive producer. The series premiered on the E! cable network on October 14, 2007, and ran for 20 seasons over the span of almost fourteen years, becoming one of the longest-running reality television series in the United States. The final season premiered on March 18, 2021. Keeping Up with the Kardashians was universally panned since its premiere. It was often criticized for the high degree of emphasis on the "famous for being famous" concept, and for appearing to fabricate some aspects of its storylines. However, some critics described the series as a "guilty pleasure" and acknowledged the family's success. Despite its negative reviews, Keeping Up with the Kardashians attracted high viewership ratings, becoming one of the network's most successful shows and winning several audience awards. The series' success led additionally to the creation of numerous spin-off series, including: Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York, Khloé & Lamar, Kourtney and Khloé Take The Hamptons, Dash Dolls, Rob & Chyna, Life of Kylie, and Flip It Like Disick. The network also broadcast several television specials featuring special events involving members of the family and friends. On September 8, 2020, the family announced via Instagram that the show would end in 2021. The series concluded on June 20, 2021. Nearly a year later, the family returned to reality television for the Hulu series The Kardashians, which premiered on April 14, 2022.

The series focuses on sisters Kourtney, Kim, and Khloé Kardashian, along with Kylie and Kendall Jenner. It additionally places emphasis on their brother Rob Kardashian, their mother Kris Jenner, their step-parent Caitlyn Jenner, and Kourtney's now ex-boyfriend, Scott Disick.
