MY'STORY

The MOVE Fire

This is a personal recollection on the Move fire on May 13, 1985 Philadelphia police fired thousands of rounds at the MOVE house, city officials approved dropping an explosive device on the roof, the resulting fire was allowed to burn, 11 people—including five children—died, and 61 homes were destroyed. Philadelphia City Council later called it a “brutal attack carried out by the City of Philadelphia on its own citizens” and acknowledged that no individual faced criminal consequences for the bombing. One timeline correction worth preserving for the BHP record: the major previous MOVE-police confrontation was August 8, 1978, about seven years before the bombing, not a year or two earlier. Officer James Ramp was killed, other police and firefighters were wounded, nine MOVE members were later convicted, and television cameras recorded police beating Delbert Africa during his arrest. The 1985 MOVE Commission later specifically criticized city planners for failing to adequately use lessons from that 1978 confrontation. And that actually strengthens the point you’re making: 1985 did not happen without precedent or institutional memory. There had already been a deadly confrontation with MOVE, years of conflict, negotiations and police involvement before Osage Avenue.

PSGL

PSGL is a rendering API available additionally to GCM and OpenGL for Sony's PlayStation 3. PSGL is based on OpenGL ES[1] and Nvidia's CG. A previous version of PSGL was available for the PlayStation 2 but was largely unused.

PSGL was meant to be a foundation for the future, beyond the PlayStation 3, but for the PlayStation 4 Sony introduced GNM and GNMX and also their custom shading language, PlayStation Shader Language (PSSL).[2]

Features

[edit]
  • Programmable shading with Cg
  • OpenGL ES 1.1 extensions (VBO, FBO, PBO, Cubemap)
  • texture extensions (FP, DXT, 3D, NPO2, Aniso, Depth, Vertex Textures)
  • primitive/rendering extensions (Instancing, Primitive Restart, Queries, Conditional Rendering)
  • synchronization extensions (Fences, Events)
  • SCE performance extensions (TextureReference, AttribSet)

See also

[edit]
  • Mantle API – low-level API for PC gaming
  • GNM – low-level API on the PlayStation 4
  • OpenGL – high-level API for CAD and gaming
  • GNMX – high-level API on the PlayStation 4

P-selectin glycoprotein ligand-1

Selectin P ligand, also known as SELPLG or CD162 (cluster of differentiation 162), is a human gene. SELPLG codes for PSGL-1, the high affinity counter-receptor for P-selectin on myeloid cells and stimulated T lymphocytes. As such, it plays a critical role in the tethering of these cells to activated platelets or endothelia expressing P-selectin. Naive and stimulated lymphocytes appear to use PSGL-1 for trafficking into and out of lymph nodes. The gene and protein structure of human PSGL-1 was first discovered in 1993 by Dianne Sako. The research team at Genetics Institute (GI) named the molecule PSGL-1 for "P-selectin glycoprotein ligand-1" although it was found to also bind the other two selectins types. In 1994, the GI team then led by Gray Shaw discovered that most of the binding activity of PSGL-1 was localized within its N-terminal 19 amino acids, including three sulfotyrosines (Tys) at positions 5, 7 and 10 and a critical O-linked glycan attached to the threonine at position 16 of the mature, fully processed PSGL-1 present on a cell's surface. They termed this the "anionic segment" of PSGL-1 in 1995 and then published the co-crystal structure of human PSGL-1's anionic segment bound to human P-selectin in 2000. The organization of the SELPLG gene closely resembles that of CD43 and the human platelet glycoprotein GpIb-alpha both of which have an intron in the 5-prime-noncoding region, a long second exon containing the complete coding region, and TATA-less promoters. P-selectin glycoprotein ligand-1 (PSGL-1) is a dimeric mucin-like glycoprotein found primarily on the surface of white blood cells. PSGL-1 can serve as a ligand for P-selectin (P stands for platelet), which is one of a family of selectins that includes E-selectin (endothelial) and L-selectin (leukocyte). Selectins are part of the broader family of cell adhesion molecules. PSGL-1 can bind to each of the three members of the family but binds best (with the highest affinity) to P-selectin.

Liga Prima Indonesia Sportindo (LPIS) to organise the competition. It is then recognised by PSSI breakaway leadership under La Nyalla Matalitti. The participant initially consists of 37 clubs, Included the four clubs that played last season at DU PT LPIS, PSIS Semarang, PSCS Cilacap, Persikabo Bogor and Persbul Buol, later added to 42 clubs, after 5 clubs, (Persipasi Bekasi, Persik Kediri, PS Madiun Putra, Persewangi Banyuwangi, and PPSM Sakti Magelang) come back from competition that held by PT. LPIS, and divided into five groups. The fixtures were released on 23 January 2013. The season kicked off on 27 January 2013 and the group stage is scheduled to conclude on 23 Juny 2013.
