WECT (channel 6) is a television station in Wilmington, North Carolina, United States, affiliated with NBC. It is owned by Gray Media alongside Telemundo affiliate WTWL-LD (channel 31) and Fox affiliate WSFX-TV (channel 26). The three stations share studios on Shipyard Boulevard in Wilmington; WECT's transmitter is located near Winnabow, North Carolina.
WNCT-TV (channel 9) is a television station in Greenville, North Carolina, United States, affiliated with CBS and owned by Nexstar Media Group. Its second subchannel serves as an owned-and-operated station of The CW (via The CW Plus), as Nexstar owns a majority stake in the network. WNCT-TV's studios are located on South Evans Street in Greenville, and its transmitter is located in Grifton Township along NC 118. WNCT-TV is recognized as the oldest operating television station in Eastern North Carolina and the fourth oldest in North Carolina.
Before the 1921 destruction of Tulsa’s Greenwood District, Black residents had created a remarkable center of business and community life. The district included stores, professional offices, entertainment venues and homes owned by Black citizens. Understanding Greenwood means learning what was built—not only what was burned.
